Troy Stetina is an American guitarist, music educator and author. Specializing in all styles of rock, metal and shred, he created more than 50 book/audio and video methods and guided a generation of guitarists toward mastery. His first internationally published Heavy Metal Guitar methods, penned the late 1980s, set the standard in guitar pedagogy. And his legendary work, Speed Mechanics for Lead Guitar, formed the shred guitar lexicon. His latest mega work is Total Picking Control: Expanded Speed Mechanics for Guitar.
Troy has taught beginners to rock stars and everywhere in between, conducted workshops and masterclasses around the world as well as recorded and performed with various bands and solo projects. An avid reader of science, history, cosmology, philosophy, psychology, comparative religion and spirituality, he is also an ordained minister who enjoys hiking, movies with plots, good TED talks, and a dark, night sky.
