Troy Stetina is an American guitarist, music educator and author. Specializing in all styles of rock, metal and shred, he created more than 50 book/audio and video methods and guided a generation of guitarists toward mastery. His first Metal Guitar methods set the standard for heavy guitar pedagogy in the late 1980s, and his legendary work "Speed Mechanics for Lead Guitar" codified shred.
Troy has taught from beginner to rock star, conducted workshops and masterclasses around the world, recorded and performed with a number of bands. An avid reader of science, history, cosmology, philosophy, psychology, comparative religion and spirituality, he is also an ordained minister who enjoys hiking, movies with plots, good TED talks, and a dark, night sky.
